Overall Manufacturing in the US certainly is in need of a boost. Groups like the STMA will be the catalyst to bring jobs back and keep America thriving. Being a member of the STMA lets me connect with my fellow peers in the area and discuss the various topics that are important to all of us. I have found that the networking at monthly meetings, mixers, and grand openings has given me additional contacts within the industry that I can call on when in need. I hope to see the group continue to expand in the future and become a core resource for all Valley Manufacturing employers and employees!

STMA keeps Am-Mex abreast of market and labor trends by providing an essential tool- their biannual market wage survey, which we use to assure we’re compensating our associates competitively. The ability to network with both Fortune 500 companies and local businesses at the monthly membership meetings facilitates the sharing of effective practices that are unique to the RGV. STMA membership has also allowed Am-Mex to improve its workforce through apprenticeship programs and access to specialized training, which STMA helps to develop in partnership with colleges and other training institutions, making it a key resource to our success.

STMA conducts a regional salary and compensation survey every two years. This survey is a great resource for effective human capital planning. This wage and benefit survey provides very useful benchmarking information for comparing salaries and benefits in the local area.
